Our next meeting of MIX’s #TRAILMIX outdoor hiking group will be on February 18, 2024 at 10:00AM, and we’d love to see you there! We’ll be hiking a portion of the Shelby Bottoms Greenway in East Nashville, weather permitting.
From Greenways for Nashville:
The Shelby Bottoms Greenway extends from the heart of Shelby Park, past the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center, and throughout Shelby Bottoms β a 950-acre floodplain preserve along the Cumberland River. The Shelby Bottoms Greenway features relatively flat and meandering, multi-use greenway pathway, river overlooks, and an internal observation platform for studying the local ecosystem. The greenway also leads to the parksβ unpaved nature trails, the Cornelia Fort Air Park, and the tremendous Cumberland River Pedestrian Bridge that joins to the Stones River Greenway.
We’ll all meet up at the Shelby Bottoms Trailhead & Nature Center before heading out – so register and let us know how many people we need to wait on before we set off? π Please bring some water with you, and if you have a dog that likes people and can walk on a leash of six feet or less, bring them too! π
