Who We Are

About MIX Nashville

Our Mission

To connect Nashville’s ENM community through inclusive social events, diversity affirming education, and intersectional advocacy.

What We Value

The guiding principles behind everything MIX Nashville does.

We believe in...

Engagement Over Boredom

So we will...

  • Embrace puns, silliness, and playfulness.
  • Plan a variety of events for a variety of people.
  • Evaluate and invite community responses.
  • Experiment with different ways to encourage engagement.
  • Invite people to participate in multiple ways.

We believe in...

Inclusion Over Judgement

So we will...

  • Respond to community desires, opinions and needs.
  • Make clear boundaries and uphold them.
  • Be compassionate, but firm.
  • Assume best intentions.
  • Embrace all types of connections.

We believe in...

Growth Over Stagnation

So we will...

  • Educate ourselves and others.
  • Stay informed on relevant topics.
  • Provide resources and create content.
  • Adapt to our community needs.

We believe in...

Openness Over Shame

So we will...

  • Give feedback directly, with discretion and consent.
  • Be candid when it is uncomfortable.
  • Accept feedback with curiosity.
  • Share ourselves authentically.
  • Strive for repair and reconciliation.

Board of Directors

MIX Nashville is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors, who are accountable to the community they serve.

Jessica Katz

Jessica Katz

Board Secretary

Jessica Katz serves as Board Secretary for MIX Nashville, helping keep things clear, coordinated, transparent, and aligned with MIX’s values. She brings a background in facilitation, leadership development, organizational change, and community building, with a focus on helping groups communicate clearly, make thoughtful decisions, and create structures that support people.

As a member of the non-monogamous community, Jessica cares deeply about building spaces where people can show up honestly, connect with care, and feel respected in the ways they choose to love, relate, and build family. She is especially passionate about consent, agency, inclusion, and making community feel more accessible for both new and longtime members.

In her role with MIX, Jessica supports clear documentation, thoughtful governance, and better pathways for members to get involved. She wants MIX to be a place where people feel welcomed, heard, and empowered to help shape the community together.

Bella

Bella

At-Large Board Member

Bella (affectionately known as Bella, Bells, or Belly) has been part of the alternative relationship community for more than 20 years, spending much of adulthood in NYC before relocating to Nashville five years ago.

As a therapist, At-Large Board Member of MIX Nashville, and leader with Monroe Rainbow, she is passionate about fostering connection, education, and belonging within alternative relationship communities. She believes that healthy relationships are built through communication, curiosity, consent, and mutual respect - and is committed to creating spaces where people can show up authentically, build meaningful relationships, and find support without shame.

When not working or volunteering, she can usually be found exploring Nashville’s food scene, cooking, reading, spending time with family, or hanging out with her dog.

Mallory Smith

Mallory Smith

At-Large Board Member

Mallory serves as an At-Large Board Member for MIX Nashville, bringing more than 20 years of experience working with neurodivergent individuals and communities. As a licensed and certified behavior analyst, she brings a background in disability awareness and education, leadership and organizational development, conflict resolution, behavior de-escalation, trauma-informed practices, and mentorship. Her work has centered on helping people with diverse learning, communication, and support needs feel understood, respected, and empowered.

As an ally and advocate within the community, Mallory is passionate about creating spaces where people can show up authentically, build meaningful connections, and feel accepted for who they are. She is especially committed to fostering inclusion, accessibility, consent, and belonging, with a particular focus on supporting neurodivergent individuals. Recognizing that many people exploring ethical non-monogamy identify as neurodivergent, she serves as a disability representative and advocates for greater understanding of diverse communication styles, sensory needs, and ways of relating.

Mallory lives in Nashville with her partner and dog, enjoys sunny days, being in any body of water, and cooking/baking.
