Temperatures might be dropping around town, but MIX Nashville is heating things up with an action packed October as we head into the '-ber' months!
Last month we promised you a Code of Conduct to help guide and govern expectations for behavior and engagement at MIX Events. The Board has reviewed, revised and finally approved the MIX Nashville Code of Conduct for your reading pleasure. Do please take a moment to dig in, as we will expect that all attendees of our MIX events behave according to the documents guidelines. Your compliance will help ensure that our events continue to be SAFE, SUPPORTIVE and JOYFUL experiences for ALL who attend!
And if you LOVE attending MIX Events, then you might be curious to understand the financial impact of the work that happens behind the scenes to keep MIX functional. While we LOVE a good financial contribution (shout out to all 7 of our most recent donors who have helped us acquire over 15% of our Annual Goal of $10K), there are so many other ways that you can show up with and for MIX. You can VOLUNTEER, sign up for Employer Matching, SHARE about the work that we're doing and events that we're hosting and/or you can make an IN KIND contribution. We know our community is comprised of folks from DIVERSE backgrounds and we LOVE when you show up as you can!
Hey...do you dig data?! US TOO! We also love the work that OPEN does to validate nonmongomous individuals, relationships and communities! And that's why we'd LOVE if you would participate in their 5th Annual Community Survey. Full disclosure, it will take you about 20 minutes but you WILL recieve the results and they are fascinating, validating and hope inspiring! Join us in sharing your voice and perspective!

MIXed - Power Dynamics

Session 2: Who Has the Power Here? — Power Dynamics in Relationships and Community
Consent only matters if refusing is actually possible. This session is about power: the factors that make saying no more costly — and often make that cost invisible.
You'll learn a working vocabulary for ten types of power that shape whether someone can really refuse, including "entwinement" — the practical, often-unspoken ties (shared housing, finances, kids, a joint lease) that make leaving or refusing harder even when no one is threatening anything. Every exercise comes back to one practical question: what would make "no" cheaper here?
Some exercises are experienced before they're explained, but everything is unpacked by the end of the session. Nothing about your personal life is shared with the group.
This course is part of a 3-part series on Consent, Power, and Repair. You don't need to have attended Session 1 — this session is designed to stand on its own.

FullMIX - Arrington Vineyards

We're heading out to Arrington Vineyards for Jazz on the Hillside. Come enjoy some live music, beautiful scenery and a lovely time with lovely people. We'll try to grab a picnic table but bring a blanket or camp chairs just in case. Look for the light up Pink Spoon sign or people wearing pink lanyards.

CineMIX Movie Night - Wicker

We're going to the movies! Come see Wicker with us to fulfill all your basket-centered romance movie needs. We will meet at the Hollywood 27 Regal Cinemas in Nashville. The exact times have not been announced but we plan to find a screening in the 7-8pm range. Purchase your ticket below, before October 13th, so we can get a count and we will get a block of seats so we can all sit together.

TrailMIX - Beaman Park

Start your Halloween with a walk through the woods. We'll meet at the Creekside Trailhead at Beaman Park and hike the Henry Hollow Loop. Come enjoy the falling leaves, the fresh air, and the company of other wonderful ENM folks. This is a 2-mile loop of moderate difficulty.
